Our School

Winfield L. Morse School

At W.L. Morse you will find a warm and committed group of educators whose focus is uniquely on the students in grades 1 & 2. Students here learn the importance of community and to be inspired learners.

We are proud to carry on the tradition of the Rose Ceremony. Each year the graduating senior class returns to the school and gives every 1st grader a rose in the fall. In the spring, the Seniors return and receive a rose back. This signifies welcoming those who are entering into the Public Schools of the Tarrytowns and properly sending off those who are graduating.

At W.L. Morse our passion is to ensure that every child feels welcome and ready to learn. There is excitement in and out of our classrooms. Students take field trips to town, where they meet with local officials, as well as visit the Peabody Preserve where the wilderness becomes their classroom for the day. They also learn social skills such as how to build friendships, how to communicate and solve problems with peers, and manage and articulate their emotions.
As the principal of W.L. Morse since 2017, I have been committed to inspiring our students to become lifelong learners. As a parent myself I know the importance of education and make it my priority to make decisions by wearing both my principal and parent hat. I’m a strong believer in open communication and encourage parents to reach out whenever they can.
